Nine to Ninety at The Village in Worcester, MA

In celebration of Black History, hosted by The Village, a joyful, brilliant group of Black women authors met together and welcomed the public. The nine-year old author, Grace, shared her two books. One book, a memoir, artfully shares her interesting, challenging young life. Her second publication is a beautiful, large coloring book. Along with other talents, Grace is also a competitive martial arts winner.

Standing beside Hope, guests were able to meet Patience, her mother, who is also a published Black women author. Her timely work deals with Black women’s health. She specifically addresses stress, expertly noting how devastating stress debilitates Black women on a daily basis. Her healthy, drug free methods of coping are shared in her publications.

Six other authors displayed and shared their published works that included spiritual health, cooking books, personal journaling, life coaching, and healing. It was interesting to note among us were entrepreneurs and former employees of the U Mass Medical School. The ninety-year -old was among the former employees of U Mass, retiring from the Hospital at age seventy. That’s me, the author of three published books. Two are memoir, the other, historical fiction preserving my grandmother’s oral history.

A nine-year-old and a ninety-year-old bringing wisdom, truth and brilliance to all fortunate enough to read our work and experience refreshing insights of Black women authors!
